Greater Flagstone and Ripley Valley Passenger Transport Access Study
Posted: 12th February 2018
Flagstone and Ripley Valley are two of the largest property developments under way in South East Queensland and both have been identified as a Priority Development Area (PDA). Bitzios Consulting was engaged by Transport and Main Roads under the Passenger Transport Infrastructure Investment Program (PTIIP) to develop a methodology for establishing ‘early-intervention’ bus services into these areas, as a template for bus service planning and funding in new master planned communities.
The project included investigating network strategies and options to connect emerging communities in the PDAs to ensure access to public transport (PT), with suitably planned infrastructure aligned with development progression. Additionally, a methodology was developed for calculating public transport subsidies to be applied to development for the provision of early PT services.
