Bankstown Airport Master Plan and Major Development Plan

Bitzios Consulting was engaged by Bankstown Airport to prepare the traffic and transport report inputs into the 2019 Airport Master Plan. This project involved determining existing ground transport systems at a regional scale, a local area scale and within the site. The project also included traffic modelling to identify existing intersection performances, existing travel patterns to/from the airport and traffic passing through the airport precincts. The purpose of the project was primarily to develop a 5-year and a 20-year Ground Transport Plan (GTP) for the Airport. We devised a road network strategy, car parking strategy, a public transport strategy and an active transport strategy, focusing on objectives and principles such as increasing shift to public transport, more traffic accessibility for commercial vehicles as well as better internal connectivity.  Since our work on the master plan and MDP we have completed nearly 50 supplementary assessments within and around the airport as it develops.
