Blacktown Health Precinct Traffic Modelling

The Blacktown LGA is experiencing rapid population growth and with a predicted population forecast of approximately 500,000 people by 2036 living in the area, Blacktown City Council has planned several future key infrastructure projects to cater for this projected increase. Bitzios Consulting was engaged to undertake a range of traffic engineering and transport planning services for the proposed Hospital and Health precinct to assist Council with its vision to achieve a modern and vibrant city centre providing employment, housing, social, cultural, recreation and transport infrastructure within a framework of sustainability and design excellence. A key part of the work was the creation of a VISSIM traffic microsimulation model of the area, which was then used to assist with a future year traffic impact assessment of the Health Precinct to develop a schedule of associated upgrade works for impact mitigation.  The work also included an active transport assessment, a public transport assessment and a parking supply assessment.
