Tweed Road Development Strategy

Bitzios Consulting was commissioned by Tweed Shire Council to develop a strategic transport model for the Tweed Shire Local Government Area.  Initial modelling was undertaken in EMME as an extension of the Gold Coast Strategic Transport Model – Multi Modal V2.0. The network skeleton and travel patterns used within the Tweed Strategic Transport Model – Multi Modal V1.0 were used to create a mesoscopic AIMSUN model of the Tweed.

The Tweed AIMSUN model included signal coordination, public transport routes and was validated to link volumes, intersection count volumes, back of queue observations and travel time observations.  The model was used to test a range of local link and intersection upgrade options to establish a 20 year road network strategy.
